Arccos Ambassadors Playing in the U.S. Open
Arccos Lead Tour Ambassador, Edoardo Molinari, is ready to take on this year’s U.S. Open at the legendary Pinehurst No. 2. With his Arccos sensors on clubs and the New Link Pro at his side (in his pocket to be precise), Edoardo is primed to track his stats on this iconic Donald Ross masterpiece.
(Curious to see how tough it actually is, check out Arccos Ambassador, Erik Anders Lang’s latest Break 90 series at Pinehurst here.)
Despite never having set foot on Pinehurst No. 2 before, Edoardo, a self-proclaimed data enthusiast, never leaves the clubhouse without thorough preparation. He ensures that both he and his Arccos Pro Insights clients like; Matt Fitzpatrick and Victor Hovland, have a deep understanding of the course. Edoardo even teamed up with fellow Arccos Tour Ambassador, Matt Fitzpatrick, for a practice round to help tackle the challenging layout.
“It’s going to be a course where it’s very difficult to hit a lot of fairways and a lot of greens,”
In classic Donald Ross fashion, Pinehurst No. 2 is riddled with mischievous runoff areas that seem to delight in steering the ball away from the greens.
Edoardo isn’t stepping onto the course without a plan. He’s acutely aware of where he can gain advantages and where he might need a little extra finesse. Though his driver distance might not rival the tour’s heavy hitters, Edoardo is confident he can make up for it with a crafty approach, putting and short game, even when faced with some monster holes on the back nine.
The home stretch—holes 15 through 18—will demand a strong finish. Edoardo’s strategy? Keep it steady and keep it in play to stay in the mix.
